Dragon Boat Racing

For more than 20 years, the Pride of the Fox RiverFest has played host to an exciting participatory sport known as Dragon Boat Racing. Fans and paddlers from past years can testify to the excitement of Dragon Boat Racing, which places 18 paddlers, one drummer and a flag catcher in the belly of a hand-carved Dragon Boat from Taiwan. The boats are steered by a professional steersman while every inch of power and motivation comes from the paddlers and crew. That means precision timing in paddling and cooperation is very important. No Dragon Boat moves down the river quickly unless paddlers learn to paddle consistently. Which means teamwork--and team spirit, are all important in this race.

Entry Deadline May 15, 2012. All entries received after this date will be assessed a $50 additional fee. The attached PDF may be downloaded and mailed to the appropriate address.
