The strength of the RiverFest Craft Show is its assortment. It is a juried craft show, and management requires that crafters sell only items they themselves have made by hand -- in a wide range of prices.

You’ll find fabrics as doll clothes (for people, too, of course) – hand-dyed, hand-painted or appliquéd. There will be whimsical wood novelties, birdhouses and practical furniture; silk florals; jewelry for the casual and fanciful; plus ceramics, folk art and a host of children’s accessories.

The show is managed by Country Faire Craft Promotions and is situated among the woodlands of Pottawatomie Park in an area east of the riverside path and south of the tennis courts and parking lots. Country Faire is known to crafters for its more than 30 annual productions, including the outdoor craft show at Rosemont Convention Center, the Skies event in Lisle and Naperville’s Sizzlin’ Summer.

On craft show weekend, RiverFest’s Business Showcase (commercial exhibits) will be adjacent to the crafters in Pottawatomie Park, and along the RiverWalk is the juried Fine Arts Show (painting, drawing, pottery, jewelry, photography and sculpture). The park also is home to the Dragon Boat Races (all day, both days) and water ski shows daily by three-time national champions, hourly performances of CanineCapers (Freestyle Frisbee, Jack Russell Races and Agility Obstacle Course), paddle-wheel river boat rides, miniature golf championship and a Corvette Show on Sunday.
